Not Done.

After playing hooky for two weeks (one week I went over to Saddleback, last week I was ill) I went back to my home church this morning. As I was driving there, I felt such a sense of anticipatory joy. When I arrived, I settled in and listened to the band practice; I so enjoyed it. The message was delivered by Pastor Brad, whose teaching style clicks with my learning style.

I did feel a bit of longing to sing with the worship team again. The drummer told me he missed "the pretty part in Wonderful One that you sing." Awww. I didn't even know he could hear me sing that part, I thought he just listened to his drums in his headset. He said he was going to look at me when that part was supposed to be sung. I grinned and said "I'll stick my tongue out at you." He laughed and replied, "People have done worse."

It felt like I had come home.

i'm glad you got to go to your home church, Jeanette . . . with Leo's health problems - sitting (which includes the drive to a church - then the service - drive home again) makes it pretty near an impossibility . . . but we read our bible together every day, read a good book together and just encourage each other over the course of time . . . we always feel SO blessed when other believers visit us or call, they encourage our hearts . . . i am healthy and could go by myself - but i don't (the long drives are part of the problem on snow covered highways) . . . i could just envision your church . . . when we did AZ in the winters, we went to Grace Community in Tempe and absolutely loved the teaching, singing, and comfortable pews (for Leo!!) . . . :o)

oh, thanx for the tip you left on my blog re windows ... i used it and it works just great! you're a good girl!

Lord bless your week!!!! saija

Hi Saija ... our church has wonderfully comfortable seats. It was good to go back to Foothills (my church) after two weeks away. It was a little strange to not have to sneak up on stage during prayertime, though. Fortunately, my drive is 8 minutes ... not too bad.

Redfred ... I was deciding whether Foothills is the church for me or not. What I realized when I went to Saddleback is their service was a little too "appealing to masses" for me. I like a pastor that makes me think about stuff, not one who glosses over things. At Saddleback, they passed around a bag of chips as an object lesson for hell's sake! It was fun to check out another church's worship team, though.

Stuart,

All due respect my friend, but as I hinted before if you are simply planning on engaging me in some clever word game to get me tied up in my own words as I suspect you are, then thanks but no thanks. I have been the subject of these tactics too many times before, there is always a flaw in the logic and frankly I have better things to do with my time. I could, if I were inclined explain to you how 2+2=5, the logic is flawed but buried so deep it will take you a week to figure it out, but at the end of the day 2+2 still equals 4.

If you want to have a regular conversation about the legitamacy of Religion or Christianity its self then I'll talk to you...

Stuart, I appreciate your sensitivity. I don't mind discussions here. I'm interested in what you guys are saying. Having another blog to read? (gah!) I dunno if I'd make it over there. :)

I certainly don't want to monopolize the conversation, I'm just as happy to talk about bunny poop or Marmite.... or even the 10 noises that irritate me the most.
